Issue Analysis & Root Cause
The issue is about the lack of accessible resources and guidance for parents and caregivers of children with hearing disabilities, which makes it difficult for families to support their children’s education and development. This issue could be addressed by creating simple, organized tools like websites, printable materials, and sign language lessons that help families communicate better and feel more confident. A key role was played by Ilunion, a professional organization that helped us gather reliable information for our website. Their support allowed us to include accurate content about hearing disabilities, effective communication strategies, and inclusive education practices.
Proposed Solution
A powerful and sustainable solution to support the education and upbringing of deaf children is the creation of an inclusive and accessible website tailored for parents and caregivers. This platform will guide families through every stage of their child’s development, offering practical advice on communication strategies, inclusive education methods, and emotional support. Instead of hosting its own sign language tutorials, the website will provide one-click links to trusted external resources such as FENASCOL, INSOR, and international platforms like the National Deaf Children’s Society, where families can access specialized materials, legal guidance, and community support. By centralizing access to essential tools and expert organizations, the website will empower families to break down communication barriers and ensure that their children receive the inclusive, informed, and supportive upbringing they deserve.

A key role was played by Ilunion, a professional organization that helped us gather reliable information for our website. Their support allowed us to include accurate content about hearing disabilities, effective communication strategies, and inclusive education practices. With their guidance, we were able to make our platform more informative and helpful for families who often feel alone in this journey. Our teacher sponsor, Susana Arias, is a teacher from the Learning Center who, although she does not have direct experience with hearing disabilities, played a key role in the success of our project. Her daily work with children gave her a strong understanding of how kids learn and communicate, which helped us make our website more practical and child-friendly. She guided us in shaping our content to better support both caregivers and children, and her feedback helped us stay focused on what would actually be useful in real-life situations.
